The restaurant here was good for dinner, we both ordered amazing dishes. The location was incredible, at a walking distance from St Mark's.

The rooms were exceptional in general, with a lovely super king size bed. The food was brilliant and there were plenty of dishes in the menu. Its location was central, 500 metres from Market Place.

For the money, hotel was worth it. Convenient location in Hitchin, quiet area. Breakfast wasn't overly impressive, for the price I can't complain.

The prompt willingness to give us a bigger room for the same price, as our booked one was not prepared. All that typically English ambience... The sumptuous breakfast.
Nothing wrong with it!!

Very nice staff and central location
Everything somewhat outdated, bad beds, mould in the bathroom, breakfast moderate

The best part of our stay at the hotel was leaving.
After a long days travelling they wouldn't let us check in until 2pm even though our room had been ready for hours. They did not clean our room after the 1st day, they did not change towels, the tv picture was terrible, the room was noisy in the evening, in general a terrible experience. The staff at reception did not want to be there.

The location is very nice, and very peaceful.
The room was fairly small, and in need of a re-vamp. I was happy to pay for the 2 nights I stayed at Hitchin Priory, but only because they had an offer on - if it was the usual price then I wouldn't recommend it.We were only using the Hotel for somewhere to stay after an evening out so I didn't mind that the room was "tired" as others have said. It was comfortable enough, had somewhere to sleep and somewhere to eat which on this occasion was all I really needed. However I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to stay in together.

Clean, has more character than the chains and is well-located with plentiful free parking in the middle of town.
My phone charger was removed in error by the cleaner during my stay but I retrieved it at check-out.

Charming Ambiance with Room for Improvement
The hotel boasts lovely grounds and a cozy atmosphere. Some room fixtures need attention, and soundproofing could be better. Enjoyed a good evening in the restaurant with attentive service. Tip, Check for room upgrades for a more comfortable stay.
